In the stretch ceiling system wafer head screws serve three primary functions:
When an aluminium profile cannot be fixed directly to the wall (e.g. due to surface irregularities or wall material), steel angle brackets act as an intermediary element. A wafer head screw joins the aluminium profile to the steel bracket. The wide head prevents the screw from punching through the thin profile wall.
On long walls, profiles are butt-joined end to end. Wafer head screws hold the profile connector in place, ensuring continuity and stability of the perimeter frame.
Platforms for spotlights and chandeliers are fixed to adjustable hangers using wafer head screws. The low, flat head protrudes only slightly above the platform surface and has no sharp edges, which limits the risk of membrane damage.
